Terms & Conditions (The Young Bards Code)

Academy Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the Young Bards Academy! To make sure our lessons run smoothly and safely, we ask all parents and students to agree to the following terms.

1. Starter Packs & Equipment

  • Collection: All Young Bards Starter Packs are strictly "Click & Collect." Your child’s pack will be waiting for them at the studio at their first scheduled lesson. We do not ship packs to home addresses. Once your child recieves their pack there will be no refunds.

  • Academy-Provided Gear: To keep costs low for parents, the Academy provides the heavy equipment for lessons (Guitars, Electronic Drum Kits, Violins, Keyboards, Amps, etc.). This equipment remains the property of the Academy and must not leave the studio.

  • Damage: General wear and tear (like a snapped guitar string) is expected and handled by our tutors. However, if Academy equipment is intentionally or maliciously damaged by a student, the parent/guardian will be liable for the repair or replacement costs.

2. Lesson Attendance & Punctuality

  • Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to ensure your child has time to unpack their folder and settle in.

  • Lessons end strictly on time to accommodate the next student. If you are late, your lesson will still finish at the scheduled time.

3. Cancellations

  • If your child cannot attend a lesson (e.g., due to illness), please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. You will recieve a refund for this lesson and we will provide catch up material for your child.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice cannot be refunded or rescheduled, as we still need to pay our tutors for their booked time.

  • If you would like to cease all music lessons, please provide us with a 30 day notice via email at youngbardsinfo@gmail.com

4. The "Bard's Code" (Behavior) Music should be fun, but it requires respect. We expect all students to respect their tutors, their peers, and the instruments. Bullying, disruptive behavior, or intentional misuse of equipment will not be tolerated and may result in the student being asked to leave the Academy.
