At Young Bards Academy, we take the privacy and safety of our students very seriously. Because we work with children, we are incredibly strict about how we handle your data.

1. What information do we collect? When you register a student or purchase a Starter Pack, we collect:

  • Parent/Guardian Details: Name, email address, phone number, and billing information.

  • Student Details: Name, age, chosen instrument, and any specific learning, medical, or accessibility needs we should be aware of to provide the best tuition.

2. Why do we collect it? We only collect data that is absolutely necessary to run the Academy safely and effectively. This includes:

  • Contacting you regarding lesson times, progress, or emergencies.

  • Ensuring our tutors are prepared for your child’s specific learning needs.

  • Processing payments for Starter Packs and tuition.

3. Who sees this data? Your data is kept strictly confidential.

  • Our Admin Team: Uses your data for billing and scheduling.

  • Your Child’s Tutor: Only receives the student's first name, age, instrument, and any relevant learning/medical notes necessary for the lesson.

  • We never sell or trade your data to third-party marketing companies.

4. How long do we keep it? We hold your data for the duration of your child’s enrollment at the Academy. If your child leaves Young Bards, their personal data will be permanently deleted from our active systems within 12 months, in accordance with standard UK safeguarding and accounting practices.

5. Photos and Social Media We love celebrating our students' progress (especially when they earn their stickers!), but we will never take or publish photos or videos of your child without your explicit, written consent.
